Varnish & Mediums

Mediums, varnishes, and solvents extend what paint can do — changing its consistency, drying time, finish, or behaviour in ways that open up new techniques and results. Our varnish and mediums collection covers a comprehensive range of additives, solvents, and finishing products for oil, acrylic, and watercolour painting.

For oil painters, we stock linseed oil, stand oil, Winsor & Newton Liquin Original and other alkyd mediums, English Distilled Turpentine, Sansodor low-odour solvent, and a range of painting and glazing mediums. For acrylic painters, we carry Wallace Seymour acrylic mediums including gesso, impasto gel, and primer, alongside Winsor & Newton Galeria mediums. Varnishes are available in gloss, satin, and matt finishes for both oil and acrylic finished work.
