The surface you paint on is as important as the paint itself — a well-prepared canvas or board gives you a stable, responsive ground that makes painting easier and results better. Our canvases and boards collection covers stretched canvases, canvas panels, canvas boards, and artist boards in a range of sizes suitable for oil, acrylic, and mixed media work.

We stock stretched canvases in standard sizes from A5 through to large format, in both standard and deep-edge profiles. Deep-edge canvases are particularly popular for work that will be displayed without a frame — the depth of the stretcher gives the finished painting a substantial, gallery-ready presence. Canvas boards are a more economical option for studies, practice, and work that will be framed. We also carry canvas by the metre for artists who prefer to stretch their own.

All canvases and boards are primed and ready to paint on. They are stocked in our Hebden Bridge shop on Carlton Street and available online with UK delivery.
