Gouache Paint

Gouache is the opaque cousin of watercolour — water-based, fast-drying, and capable of the flat, vivid colour that makes it the medium of choice for illustrators, designers, animators, and fine artists who want rich, matte coverage with the convenience of a water-based paint.

Unlike watercolour, gouache is fully opaque — you can paint light colours over dark, correct mistakes with a fresh layer, and achieve clean, flat areas of colour that watercolour can't match. It can also be diluted with water to work more transparently when needed, making it one of the most versatile water-based mediums available.
