About Craft and Canvas

Craft and Canvas is an independent art supplies, yarn, and haberdashery shop on Carlton Street in Hebden Bridge. We opened in 2023 because we thought Hebden Bridge deserved a proper one.

We stock the things we actually believe in. Wallace Seymour watercolours, oils, and acrylics — handmade in the Yorkshire Dales by two painters who refused to compromise on quality when everyone else was cutting corners. Caran d'Ache pencils from Geneva. Sennelier from Paris. Rowan Felted Tweed from the Pennines. Baa Ram Ewe from Saddleworth. Malabrigo from Uruguay. Yarn, paint, and haberdashery chosen because it's good — not because it's easy to stock.

We don't carry everything. We carry the right things.

Our window space is free to local artists every month. No strings. No commission. Just a window on Carlton Street and an audience who'll notice.
