Most paper buckles, warps, or simply can't cope when you combine wet and dry media on the same surface. These Seawhite Mixed Media Artboards are built for exactly that challenge — a rigid, heavyweight board that takes whatever you throw at it without complaint.

Each board is double-sided, with Seawhite's all-media 220gsm heavyweight cartridge bonded to both faces, giving you a beautiful cartridge surface for drawing and painting on either side. At 1.2mm thick, the boards offer a genuinely rigid working surface — no buckling under washes, no warping from heavy paint application.

The boards offer stunning performance with the widest range of media, making them as useful for pencil and ink work as they are for watercolour, gouache, acrylics, or mixed media layering. Whether you're working wet into wet, building up texture, or combining drawing with paint, these boards give you a stable, responsive surface that holds its shape.

The boards are acid-free, so work created on them won't yellow or deteriorate over time — worth knowing if you're producing pieces you want to keep or sell. They are also FSC certified and made in the UK by Seawhite of Brighton, a trusted name in British art materials.

The pad is glued and taped to a rigid 2mm board backing with an integral front cover, keeping the sheets protected and the pad solid to work on without a drawing board underneath.

10 sheets per pad. A4 size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What media can I use on Seawhite Mixed Media Artboards? These boards are designed to handle the full range of wet and dry media — watercolour, gouache, acrylic, ink, pencil, charcoal, and pastel all work well. The heavyweight 220gsm cartridge surface is robust enough to cope with wet washes without warping.

Are the boards double-sided? Yes — both sides of each board carry the same 220gsm all-media cartridge surface, so you can work on either face. That effectively gives you 20 working surfaces per pad.

Will the boards warp with wet media? The rigid construction of each board — 1.2mm thick with bonded facing papers — means they hold their shape far better than standard paper pads when used with wet media.

Are they acid-free? Yes. The boards are acid-free, which means work created on them is archivally sound and won't deteriorate with age.

Where are they made? Seawhite pads are made in the UK. Seawhite of Brighton is one of the UK's most respected independent art materials manufacturers, with a long track record in quality surfaces for artists and students alike.

How many sheets are in the pad? 10 boards per pad, each A4 size (210 x 297mm).
