Pebeo Silicone Oil is an additive used in acrylic pouring and fluid art to create cells—those distinctive circular patterns that look like bubbles or honeycomb.

When you add a few drops of this silicone oil to your acrylic paint before pouring, it doesn't mix completely with the paint. Instead, it rises to the surface as the paint flows and settles, pushing the paint aside to create organic, cell-like patterns. The oil breaks the surface tension of the paint, which is what creates these eye-catching effects.

How to use it: Add just a small amount—typically 1-2 drops per ounce of paint is enough. You can add it directly to your paint mixture or drop it onto the surface after pouring. A little goes a long way, so start sparingly and add more if needed to achieve your desired effect.

It works with most acrylic pouring techniques including dirty pours, flip cups, and swipe methods. The size and number of cells you get will depend on how much oil you use, the consistency of your paint, and your pouring technique.

This is a specialist product for fluid art and acrylic pouring—it's not meant to be mixed with paint for traditional brush painting. After your artwork dries completely, you'll want to varnish it to seal in the silicone and protect your finished piece.

Popular with artists creating abstract poured paintings, the silicone oil helps achieve those professional-looking cellular effects that make fluid art so visually striking.
