The larger format craft stick — 20cm long and 25mm wide — that opens up a considerably wider range of construction and craft possibilities than the standard smaller lolly stick. At this size these are genuinely structural craft sticks, capable of carrying real weight and forming stable frames, panels, and three-dimensional constructions that smaller sticks simply cannot achieve.

Natural birch wood, smooth, splinter-free, and completely untreated — the natural surface takes paint, acrylic, marker, ink, glue, and varnish without any preparation needed. The flat profile and consistent dimensions make them easy to stack, align, and join accurately. They can be cut with scissors or a craft knife for shorter lengths, and the flat ends are perfectly suited to being joined edge-to-edge or face-to-face with PVA, wood glue, or hot glue.

At this generous size the uses multiply considerably beyond what a standard lolly stick allows — picture frames, small box constructions, model buildings, furniture for dolls houses and model villages, garden plant labels large enough to write on clearly, woven panels, simple looms, and structural elements in mixed media and assemblage art are all practical applications. They are equally at home in classroom and workshop craft sessions as in home craft projects, and the pack of 50 gives a useful working quantity for most small to medium scale constructions.

Dimensions: 20cm long x 25mm wide
Material: Natural birch wood, untreated
Pack contents: 50 sticks

What can large craft sticks be used for?
Picture frames, model buildings and structures, plant labels, woven panels, dolls house and model furniture, gift boxes, small looms, assemblage art, mixed media construction, and any project where a flat, natural wood element is needed. At 20cm they are substantially larger than standard lolly sticks and suit structural and display applications particularly well.

Can they be painted or decorated?
Yes — the smooth, untreated natural wood surface takes acrylic paint, poster paint, marker, ink, wax, varnish, and most craft adhesives without any priming or preparation. Sanding lightly before painting gives an even smoother finish.

How are they joined together?
PVA glue, wood glue, and hot glue all work well. PVA gives a strong, clean bond with adequate drying time; hot glue gives an instant bond suitable for faster projects. Elastic bands can also be used to hold pieces in position while glue dries.

Are they suitable for children?
Yes — the smooth, splinter-free natural wood is safe for use by children in supervised craft sessions. The larger size makes them easier for children to handle and construct with than smaller sticks.
