Malabrigo Rios — 100% Superwash Merino — Worsted Weight

Malabrigo Rios is one of the most widely loved hand-dyed yarns in the world, and for good reason. Made from 100% superwash merino wool at a generous worsted weight, it combines the softness and warmth of premium merino with the practicality of machine-washability — a combination that makes it genuinely useful as well as genuinely beautiful.

Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches in Uruguay, producing the rich, complex colour depth that Malabrigo is known for. The worsted weight gives Rios excellent stitch definition and a satisfying, springy handle that works well across a wide range of techniques. It knits up quickly, wears comfortably, and washes without drama.

Rios suits sweaters, cardigans, hats, mittens, shawls, and blankets — anything where you want worsted-weight warmth with colours worth looking at. As a superwash yarn it is machine washable on a gentle cool cycle, making finished items genuinely wearable rather than relegated to the hand-wash pile.

All Malabrigo yarns are hand-dyed in small batches. We recommend purchasing all skeins for a project at the same time to ensure the closest possible dye lot match, and alternating between two skeins every few rows when using more than one.
