The original Hi-Tack formulation and still the one that most people mean when they talk about Hi-Tack glue. An all-purpose craft and haberdashery adhesive with a strong initial grip and a slower drying time — which, far from being a drawback, is often exactly what you need. The slower dry allows you to reposition, adjust, and finesse your work before the bond sets, making it well suited to detailed and intricate applications where rushing would cost you.

Hi-Tack Original applies white, dries completely clear, and remains flexible once fully cured — it does not become brittle or crack with movement, making it reliable on fabric and other materials that flex in use. It can be thinned with water for lighter applications. Used between two layers of fabric and pressed with a hot iron, it creates a heat-sealed bond, adding a useful no-sew capability to its repertoire. The bond is suitable for gentle hand washing with care, making it more practical than Fast-Tack for finished fabric items that may need occasional cleaning.

It works across a very wide range of materials including fabric, silk, ribbon, lace, trimmings, paper, card, wood, china, metal, polystyrene, and glass. Safe and non-toxic. 115ml bottle with a fine nozzle applicator and replacement protective cap.

When should I choose Very Sticky over Fast-Tack? Choose Very Sticky when you need working time — when positioning needs to be precise, when pieces are fiddly, or when you are working on detailed or delicate projects where rushing would be costly. Also choose it when the finished item may need hand washing, as the Original formulation is suitable for gentle hand washing with care, which Fast-Tack is not.

Can it be thinned? Yes — Hi-Tack Original can be thinned with water, which is useful for lighter applications or for use as a fabric stiffener.

Can it be used to bond fabric without sewing? Yes. Applied between two layers of fabric and pressed with a hot iron, Hi-Tack Original creates a heat-sealed bond — a useful no-sew option for hems, appliqué, and trimmings.

Is it suitable for washing? The bond is suitable for gentle hand washing with care. It is not recommended for machine washing or dry cleaning.
