Hi-Tack Fast-Tack delivers the same strong, clear, flexible bond that has made the Hi-Tack range a craft room staple, with a significantly quicker drying time that makes it the better choice when speed matters — for busy workshops, classroom settings, card making, collage work, and any project where you need to move on quickly rather than wait for the glue to cure.
Like the Original, Fast-Tack applies white, dries completely clear, and remains flexible once cured. It works across the same broad range of materials — fabric, ribbon, lace, trimmings, paper, card, wood, metal, glass, and polystyrene — and can be thinned with water for lighter applications. Used between two layers of fabric and pressed with a hot iron it will also create a heat-sealed bond, just as the Original does. Safe and non-toxic. 115ml bottle with a fine nozzle applicator.
The key trade-off versus the Original is washing — Fast-Tack is not suitable for washing or dry cleaning, making it less appropriate for fabric items that will need regular cleaning. It is also less forgiving on intricate work where repositioning time is needed, as the faster dry leaves less room for adjustment.
When should I choose Fast-Tack over Very Sticky? Choose Fast-Tack when speed is the priority — when you are working quickly through a project, in a workshop or classroom environment, or on card making, collage, and paper craft where drying time slows you down. If the finished item will not need washing, Fast-Tack is often the more convenient choice.
Can it be thinned? Yes — Fast-Tack can be thinned with water in the same way as the Original.
Can it be used to bond fabric without sewing? Yes. Applied between two layers of fabric and pressed with a hot iron, Fast-Tack creates a heat-sealed bond suitable for no-sew hems, appliqué, and trimmings.
Is it suitable for washing? No. Fast-Tack is not suitable for washing or dry cleaning. For fabric items that will need cleaning, Hi-Tack Original Very Sticky (HT1780) is the better choice as it is suitable for gentle hand washing with care.
