Can I use watercolour in a Seawhite Euro Sketchbook? Light washes and ink washes work well on the 160gsm paper. Heavy wet-on-wet watercolour techniques will cause the paper to buckle and won't give the same results as dedicated watercolour paper. What media work best in the Euro Sketchbook? Graphite, coloured pencils, pen and ink, fineliner, charcoal (with fixative for permanence), light ink washes, and marker pens all work well. The sizing gives enough wet strength to handle a surprising amount of wet media, but the paper is fundamentally a cartridge/all-media surface rather than a watercolour surface.
What's the difference between portrait and landscape orientations? Portrait is taller than wide — the standard sketchbook format. Landscape is wider than tall — popular for panoramic drawing, urban sketching, and artists who prefer a horizontal format. Both use the same paper and binding.
